Meaningful Summers has chosen Blood Brothers as the charity to support for the 2015 Summers Event. For the past two years we have been organizing runs in Spring Brook Prairie in Naperville, IL. This year we plan to organize a documentary screening. The documentary is called Blood Brothers and it is about a Pediatric AIDS orphanage. It is a story of an American born man who travels to India. While in India the man, Rocky Braat, stumbles upon a rural orphanage. Rocky soon finds out that all the kids in the orphanage were abandoned because they have AIDS. Touched by the spirit and stories of the kids, Rocky decides to devote his life to them. We will be screening the documentary at the Yellow Box Church in Naperville. The event will cost $2 dollars to attend. If you are interested, please sign up using the form on the Sign-Up Info page.

On December 22, 2013, Meaningful Summers organized an event at the St. Patrick's Nursing Home in Naperville, IL. We were able to bring smiles to the faces of residents by playing christmas music on our instruments. The residents really enjoyed listening to us play and enthusiastically joined in by singing along. Many of them asked for an encore performance. Thanks go out to Anchit (Cello), Nikita (Violin), Saloni (Cello), and Arjun (Oboe) for their participation in this event. To view photos of this event, please click on the "Photos" tab on the menu.

Posted by Aditya on August 18, 2013 at 11:05 AM Comments comments (0)

Hi Everyone,

For safety reasons, kids 7 years old and under can participate in a shorter route. If necessary, parents can accompany their children. Their run will start after the completion of the run for the older kids.

Rules for Safety

Posted by Aditya on August 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM Comments comments (0)

When running always follow these 3 rules for safety on the trail,

1. Take care near roads and parking lots - some vehicles drive very fast. Please congregate away from the cars. If you’re driving to the run, please drive carefully even if you’re late!

2. When running, take care on uneven surfaces - whether on grass or on tarmac. Watch out for cyclists, other runners, pedestrians, children, dogs, wildlife, animals, vehicles, park maintenance work, falling branches, posts and other obstacles around the course.

3. Before the run use a liberal amount of insect repellant and sunscreen. Since we are running in the woods there will be a lot of insects.
